AI-Powered Cooking: A New Era
Welcome to the very first blog post from Betty Rocker’s Kitchen—where cooking, creativity, technology, and a little bit of rock-and-roll collide.
If you’re new here, Betty Rocker is our digital star: a fictional performer brought to life through AI, music, and storytelling. She’s part chef, part pop-rock icon, and all heart. And today, we’re taking you behind the scenes into how her universe is being built from scratch.
Creating a believable on-screen world requires more than just great recipes and catchy songs. It starts with something fundamental, something every major film studio, animation house, and production team relies on:
A MASTER SHOT LIST
In our case, we’re designing that visual foundation inside Runway, one of the most powerful AI video creation tools available today.
Why a Master Shot List Matters
Before a camera rolls—or in this case, before AI generates even a single frame—we need a complete blueprint of who Betty Rocker is and how she exists on screen.
A master shot list helps us:
- Build character consistency
- Create reusable cinematic assets
- Speed up production for future episodes
- Maintain continuity across cooking, performance, and lifestyle content
- Give AI the structure it needs to generate clean, on-brand results
Think of it like setting the stage before a band steps out to perform: the lights, the angles, the mood—it all has to be intentional.
Step One: Defining Betty Rocker Through Standard Shots
Our first task was to create a clean set of “standard shots” that Runway could use as the foundation for animation. These shots aren’t tied to any recipe or storyline yet—they’re the essential building blocks of Betty’s world.
Here are the core categories we started with:
1. Hero Shots (Brand Identity)
These are the images that define Betty’s look and personality at a glance.
A few examples:
- Full-body hero pose
- Signature portrait
- Side profiles
- 360° turnaround for consistency
These shots anchor Betty’s visual identity across everything we create.
2. Performance Shots (Her Rock-Star Side)
Betty isn’t just cooking—she sings, she performs, she entertains.
So we designed:
- Close-up singing shots
- Full-body performance poses
- Dynamic movement shots
- Hair motion shots for energy
These will power future music-driven recipe videos.
3. Hosting Shots (Her Cooking Persona)
Because Betty is also the host of her own cooking show, we need:
- Classic kitchen-facing hosting poses
- Natural reactions (laughs, smiles, curious looks)
- Compositional variations for editing flexibility
These become the on-camera moments where she teaches, reacts, and connects.
4. Transitional Motion Shots
These are the cinematic “glue” between scenes:
- Stepping into frame
- Stepping out
- Turning toward camera
- Turning away
- Soft movement plates for stylish transitions
These allow us to build polished, professional video sequences.
Step Two: Using Runway to Generate Consistent Visual Assets
With the shot categories defined, we can feed them to Runway using carefully written prompts. The goal is to:
- Maintain maximum facial consistency
- Ensure Betty moves realistically
- Capture cinematic lighting and composition
- Build assets that work for real cooking footage, music videos, and social media clips
This is where AI meets filmmaking.
Every prompt is crafted like a director giving instructions on set.
Instead of “action,” we’re typing:
“Full-body hero pose, soft studio light, confident stance, 4:3 aspect ratio.”
And with each new clip, the Betty Rocker Universe grows more real.
Step Three: Laying the Foundation for Future Episodes
The master shot list we’re building today becomes the backbone of every future video:
- YouTube recipe episodes
- Short-form TikTok & Instagram reels
- Music video mashups
- Behind-the-scenes content
- Blog articles
- Branding materials
- Promotional banners and thumbnails
It’s the same approach used by film studios and animation companies—
build a world first, then produce inside it.
